WANDERING 1

Following an accident that left me isolated from normal life and from photography for many months, I had time to read and to reflect, an enforced wandering. I recall the words of Depardon and since I haven’t found more appropriate words to explain what I was experiencing, I have no scruples in sharing them with readers, as this author is so brilliant: “I have the feeling that something will not be as before. It is maybe there, the true definition of wandering, in the search, with its solitude and its fear. It is the desire that I was looking for, the purity, the calling into question, to go further, to the heart of things, to isolate myself from everything. I have to clear my head … to encounter the heart of a new image, neither too human, nor too contemplative, where the inner self is drawn out by places when the place is neither spectacle, nor obstacle. I must live this search that is mine … It comes at a moment, neither good nor bad, it is inevitable … To be just, this wandering is necessarily initiatory … my way of seeing will change … This search becomes the search for acceptance, an acceptable self”.
